J.B. Walton papers, 1858.

Papers reflect the role played by the Washington Artillery in Independence Day celebrations in New Orleans, La., in 1858. They consist of an order signed by the secretary of the New Orleans mayor's office instructing Walton to fire national salutes of 32 guns in Clay Square on the evening of July 3 and several times on July 4, and a bill to the city of New Orleans for the services of the artillery during the July 4th celebrations.
